05/18/17 - May "Ugly Paper" Challenge

Hi, it's "Ugly Paper" time again!

First a reminder of the rules (you can skip this part if you already know them):

1. After signing up, the host gives your name and address to another participant
2. The other participant sends you 2 "ugly" papers and at least one ugly embellishment
3. You MUST use both papers; the embellishment(s) is optional
4. You are allowed to use other items as well, as long as the 2 "ugly" papers are included in the layout
5. You are allowed to alter the papers and, if used, the embellishment(s) but they must still be recognizable

"May Uglies"

"Lump In A Rug"

Journaling:
"A couple of years ago, when we redecorated part of our house, we got rid of a giant throw rug. We put it on our back patio until trash day. Well, Hamlet decided he liked it, made it his own, and it's been sitting on our patio, for him, ever since."

I used both papers:
One as the BG and one cut up in strips and staggered behind the photos.
I did not use the embellishment(s) this time.
I do believe this is the first time I've not used my embellishment(s).
But I just couldn't make them work w/ my layout.

BTW - I did my layout w/in a few days of receiving my papers...
Another first!
Usually it takes me the entire month, but I had that first photo of Hamlet already printed out for a future project and the green grass in the BG of the photo so perfectly matched the green PP that I instantly knew it was made for this layout... not to mention the colors and busy pattern of the 2nd PP were a pretty good match for the pattern on the rug in the photos.
What clinched it was my daughter just recently uploaded the second photo on Instagram making it the perfect pairing for the first photo!

Finally....
For those of you who see "it" and are wondering...

Yes, that is a duck that you see in the BG of one of the photos!
(for those who didn't see it, I'll wait while you look, LOL)

Our neighbors have a duck that seems to like our backyard better than his own! He spends like 90% of his time in our yard.
We kinda think of him as ours now, though he isn't...
And him and Hamlet seem to be great pals.
The duck follows him around and likes to lay by him when they're resting.
We don't know the duck's name or even if it's a girl or boy, but we call him "Howard" as in "Howard the duck".

05/15/17 - MIM Sketch #88

Good Monday Morning to you!
Today I am sharing w/ you the latest sketch from the "The Memory Nest" blog:

MIM Sketch #88

And here is my interpretation of it:

NERD!

JOURNALING:  "The definition of nerd!
Joseph reading while wearing his Storm Trooper Helmet.
I'm still trying to understand the situation, LOL!
9.12.15"

I was inspired by:
> the 1 photo
> the stars scattered throughout
> the title right under the photo
> the "box" on the left of the photo (that I used for my journaling)
> the overall design of the sketch w/ it's  scattered items

It was a fun, fast, easy sketch to use!
I hope you have as much fun w/ it!
Don't forget to link up your layout before the end of the month!

05/10/17 - "Lay Off Me, I'm Starving!"

Hello, and Happy Wednesday to you!
I am sharing a recent layout that I had A LOT of fun creating.
The photos are silly, the subject is fun, one of my faves (food!), and I used up a lot of old product on it!
Plus I show you that "pig" stickers are not just for "pig" layouts!

Here it is:

"Lay Off Me, I'm Starving!"

Journaling:
Date: Night of 4.28.17/Morning of 4.29.17
Place: Wahlburgers Vegas
"In the wee hours of the morning of the 29th, after a night of clubbing, David and I grubbed on a Wahlburgers Thanksgiving Day Sandwich, my favorite, and a Fluffanutta, first time.
To say I enjoyed it would be an understatement! I mean, just look at my face in the photos, LOL!"

This was not our first visit to Wahlburgers, still need to scrap that one, and it most certainly isn't our last! As a matter of fact we are planning a trip to Boston later this year and we are hoping to include a visit to the original Wahlburgers!
Speaking of "firsts", that wasn't my first Thanksgiving Day Sandwich, I get it EVERY TIME I go, but it was my first Fluffanutta and both were delish!

🔹️Wahlburgers Thanksgiving Day Sandwich = a Turkey Burger, with Stuffing, Mayo, Housemade Orange-Cranberry Sauce, and Roasted Butternut Squash
🔹️Grilled Banana Fluffanutta = a Toasted Sandwich filled with Peanut Butter, Fresh Banana, Fluff, and Nutella

BTW - My title is a quote from a TV show...
Do you know which one and who said it?

05/08/17 - "The Shape of You"

Hi!
Happy Monday!
Yes I said "Happy" Monday... and I mean it!
For more info as to why, check out this IG post of mine:

Also,Today I am sharing w/ you layout  #16 of my 75 Layout Goal for 2017
(As of today I'm up to 19 total; my last post was of layout #17)

 Anyway, without further ado...

"The Shape of You"

Journaling:
"Top photo: Hamlet says, 'Look at this physique... I'm definitely Olympic ready!' 08.13.16

Right hand photo: Gosh, I love this little big guy so much!
And yes he's still considered a mini-pig! 7.20.16"

I love this layout! It really is so simple but it makes me happy!
I swear my favorite layouts (created by me) always seem to be the simpler layouts!

Inspiration for the page came from the SB.com Music Challenge
Category #4 - Song
The host chose the song: "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran
Used the title of the song for the title of my layout.
*INCLUDES TWIST* of 5 of the same shape; there are more than 5 hearts on this page
